HEALTH GUARANTEE AND CONGENITAL DEFECT CONTRACT

We back every puppy from our program with an uncompromising health framework designed to give you total peace of mind as your giant breed companion grows. Every sire and dam in our breeding program undergoes rigorous orthopedic, cardiac, and genetic testing—including specific clearances for hips, elbows, heart, and cystinuria—before any breeding takes place.

1. Immediate 72-Hour Health Guarantee

You are required to have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of taking physical possession.

  • If your veterinarian officially certifies in writing within this initial 72-hour window that the puppy suffers from a life-threatening illness or a severe congenital defect present since birth, you may return the puppy to us immediately.
  • Upon the verified return of the puppy along with the official veterinary diagnostic report, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price or priority replacement from a future litter.

2. Long-Term Genetic & Hereditary Guarantee

We provide a comprehensive long-term health guarantee against crippling, life-threatening hereditary joint or cardiac conditions (specifically severe hip/elbow dysplasia or genetic heart conditions covered under our formal contract) valid for a period of up to two years.

  • To qualify for a remedy under this guarantee, the condition must be diagnosed by a certified veterinary specialist (such as an OFA radiologist or board-certified veterinary cardiologist) with official imaging or diagnostic reports submitted directly to us.
  • If a severe, crippling genetic condition is verified within this window, we provide recourse options including a replacement puppy from a future litter or financial contributions toward approved medical care, as clearly outlined in your finalized adoption contract.

3. Buyer Responsibilities for Slow Growth

Because Newfoundlands are a giant breed that undergoes rapid skeletal development, this guarantee is strictly contingent upon proper home care and environmental management.

  • Nutrition: You must feed your puppy a high-quality food formulated explicitly for Large or Giant Breed Puppies to ensure slow, stable bone growth.
  • Weight Management: You must keep your puppy lean; carrying excess weight during their formative first year puts dangerous, unapproved stress on developing skeletal structures and voids joint guarantees.
  • Exercise Restraints: You must protect your puppy’s developing joints by avoiding strenuous, high-impact activities—such as repetitive jumping, running on hard surfaces, or forced long-distance jogging—until their growth plates have fully fused at around 18 to 24 months of age.

4. Exclusions

This health guarantee does not cover temporary or common baseline puppy ailments that do not affect long-term life expectancy. This includes, but is not limited to, internal parasites (worms, giardia, or coccidia), mild upper respiratory infections (kennel cough), stress-induced diarrhea from transitioning to a new home, or minor structural variations that do not impair the dog’s quality of life as a companion.
